From December 14, 2022, Katsuya started to sell "Miso Tamakatsu-don" and "Miso Tartar Katu-don", a limited time menu item.
You can choose between two different miso katsu (pork cutlets) to suit your mood: a thick miso-covered cutlet topped with a thick egg or a crispy green onion and a generous amount of tartar.
This time, we ordered the Miso Tartar Katsu Donburi (715 yen) for a hands-on investigation.
It consists of miso cutlet, tartar sauce, green onions, and cabbage on a bed of rice.
My impression of the dish is that it is crispy and tender, and the mild sourness of the tartar sauce stimulates the appetite.
The richness of the sauce is impressive, and the flavor of the miso sauce is not so much.
The crunchy texture and flavor of the green onion is addictive, and together with the rice, the dish is very satisfying.
